COMMERCIAL PROJECT | RECEPTION AREA AND WORKSPACE

The brief was to integrate a four-person working office space within a narrow and quite restricted area adjacent to the reception area. When creating the concept and design of this office and reception space I referred to materials synonymous with the construction industry such as concrete, steel and stone.

Cemintel wall cladding was used to present an urban concrete feel to the space , stone to the reception counter with timber laminate to joinery to integrate warmth into the space. The hard wearing and functional use of Caesarstone “Snow” was selected for the reception counter front and top. Above the Caesarstone counter is the powder coated black metal framework hung from the ceiling creating a beautiful feature as clients enter the reception area. To bring this feature together and complete the area, the Lightco Circle Lights by Northern have been staggered to form an almost sculptural effect to the space– in love with these lights! A MUST have in any office space to lift mood and increase productivity was also the placement of greenery. All elements combined to create the WOW factor. A reception area is not complete without a waiting chair and side table to hold the all important business brochures. I selected the Hex waiting chair by Workspace with INSTYLE fabric, with the refined lines and origami style silhouette. The angles of the chair also reflect the design elements of the construction industry, whilst comfortable and functional for a modern commercial environment. The space also features the Workspace Asterisk Table with its black on black finish giving it an ultra-modern feel!
